Yesterday we had a detailed discussion with you about the most fashionable dresses of the come summer. But everyone here doesn’t love just to dress up. We love to contemplate, to savor and perhaps even to create new designs. Click To Tweet So we really need a daily serving of inspiration! And I found this opportunity. The topic of our today’s inspiration – Met Gala 2016 and its outfits.
In New York has passed an annual Costume Institute Ball. That’s really nothing to say! Firstly, it’s New York – one of the fashion capitals, and in general – it is a dream city for lots of designers, models, artists, film directors … Therefore presentation of your taste, style and fashion sense in this city – is a big responsibility. And the second point catches the eye in itself – Costume Institute Ball . And you know, no one did a disappoint – everyone was dressed as if he or she was a character of the movie “The Hunger Games”, and of course – the resident of the capital. There have been also fantastic characters at the party … But what I write and write, let’s have a look!
This year, dresses had a lot of “gladiatorial” elements and components in the form of knights’ armor. We could just look at Jourdan Dunn in her long silver dress by Balmain. It should also be noted that silver was almost the main theme of the evening – nearly all stars dressed in similar outfits: Rita Ora in Vera Wang dress looked like a fairy bird; Taylor Swift in Louis Vuitton appeared like a real rock diva – no country-style, and it pleases.
Nevertheless Zoe Saldana in a Dolce & Gabbana dress outdid Rita Ora and her dress by Vera Wang. Because classics and tenderness – are for Oscar, and for a such celebration as Met Gala 2016 you need glamor and extravagance.
Another lady in feathers: Amber Valletta in H & M dress.
In this year Met Gala is futuristic. Click To Tweet Its theme is “Fashion in the age of technology” and therefore celebrities are dressed in shimmering sequins and chain armours made from metallized fabrics, and Zayn Malik seemed wearing a superhero armor, which perfectly complemented Gigi Hadid dress designed by Tommy Hilfiger.

Alicia Vikander was the only one who has distinguished and flashed with gold in a dress by Louis Vuitton. I’ve been following style of this girl on the red carpets and frankly, I want to shake her or her stylist’s hand!
Also, in the guise of gold appeared Lily Aldridge, who preferred a “naked” dress by Michael Kors.
It seems that at the current Met Gala 2016 all stars tried to choose for themselves some characters from movies and literature. Katy Perry, for example, reconsidered the image of Elvira – Mistress of the Darkness. And the queen of glamor just simply captivated Gothic elements. Frankly, it seems to me that this is a stirred Gothic elements with the baroque art. And what do you think?
The most memorable, of course, were queens of outrageous: Lady Gaga in Atelier Versache and Madonna in Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy dresses.
“We have fought and continue to fight for civil rights and gay rights around the world. When it comes to Women’s rights we are still in the dark ages,” Madonna explained, defending her daring sartorial choice. “My dress at the Met Ball was a political statement as well as a fashion statement.”
Chanel fashion house dared to undertake a transformation of the pretty darling girl and a wild child Kristen Stewart. As for me she turned out well. And what do you think?
Jennifer Connelly appeared in the innovational style, which mixes two subcultures: grunge and glamor. She wore heeled shoes in the style of Dr.Marten’s and chose hairstyle in the style of grunge curls and also a Louis Vuitton dress. And Gomez outfit is associated with one of the major blockbusters of last year, the film “Mad Max.” I really adore them, and what about you?
Minimalism and monochrome are key to successful outfits of Emma Watson and Margot Robbie, who appeared on the red carpet in a Calvin Klein dresses. The star of “Suicide Squad” chose a dress of ivory color with geometric cutouts on the side view, and a performer of a stellar Hermione role posed for photographers in the bustier-top and trousers with detachable long train.
And here is Nicole Kidman, who has become for me a real fairy-tale character, namely – the queen of the night sky.
Hollywood has its Oscars each Winter, but every fashionista knows the real glamour doesn’t arrive till Spring with the annual Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
How did you enjoy such portion of inspiration? I think our world needs new heroes, heroes-designers who know how to create such incredible beauty.
